A Bentley once owned by The Queen could be yours if you head down to the Bonhams Goodwood revival sale this weekend (September 9).
The top-of-the-range Bentley Mulsanne was used by the Queen and Prince Phillip for numerous official state occasions from 2012 until 2014.
One such occasion was Her Majesty’s trip to Number 10 Downing Street to attend her first and only cabinet meeting in December 2012.
Organized as part of the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations, the trip marked one of the exceptionally few times in British history that a serving monarch has visited the Prime Minister at home.
As with all former royal rides, the Bentley has been stripped of its special features, including security devices, royal crests and flashing blue lights.
However, one trace of the original owner remains: when drivers activate the built-in sat-nav system and press the ‘Home’ button, it still brings up directions to Windsor Palace.
Having clocked up less than 6,000 miles from new, the car will now be offered with an estimated price of £160,000 – £180,000 ($210,000 – £230,000).
"An eminently usable modern luxury car from one of the world’s most prestigious makes, this beautiful Mulsanne has the unique distinction of having been HM The Queen’s personal transport during a landmark period of her reign," said Bonhams.
"As such, it represents a possibly once-in-lifetime opportunity to purchase a car intimately associated with Great Britain’s longest-reigning monarch."
Another significant royal car on offer is a 1980 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II LWB Saloon formerly owned by Princess Margaret.
The car served as Princess Margaret’s personal vehicle from 1980 until her death in 2002, when it was used to transport family members to her funeral.
During her ownership, the car was reportedly loaned out to Princess Diana, U.S President Ronald Reagan and even The Queen herself.
Offered from very long-term Royal Family ownership, the unique and much-storied car will cross the block with an estimate of £70,000 – £90,000 (US$91,000 – $120,000).
