A vintage Porsche once owned by Nic Cage will lead a major private collection of cars heading for auction in Fort Lauderdale later this year.
Auctions America has announced it will offer the JLB Autocrib Collection, a dedicated Porsche collection assembled over one of the course of more than 40 years by Jack and Alice Gish.

The collection features 25 vehicles tracing the development of the marque from the 1950s to the present day, including both air-cooled and water-cooled models, along with one of the world’s most extensive collections of historic Porsche memorabilia.

"We’re honored to have been entrusted with the JLG Autocrib Collection," said Bill Windham, Vice President of Sales, Auctions America.

"A true labor of love by Jack and Alice Gish, it is one of the most complete collections of Porsche automobiles and nostalgia I’ve ever seen, and presents a very exciting range of ownership opportunities for Porsche enthusiasts."

Amongst the leading lots is an award-winning 1955 Porsche 356 1600 Speedster originally owned by Hollywood actor (and well-known eccentric collector) Nic Cage, which comes with an estimate of $275,000-$325,000.

Further highlights from the collection include a limited production 1988 Porsche 911 Turbo ‘Slantnose’ valued at $140,000-$180,000; a rare 1968 Porsche 912 ‘Soft Window’ Targa estimated at $40,000-$55,000; a 1965 Porsche 356C 1600 SC Cabriolet estimated at $125,000-$160,000; and a fully optioned 2003 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe priced at $50,000-$70,000.

"I’ve always loved Porsches – their look, their sound, the way they hug the road and their technology has always been very attractive," said Jack Gish.

"Our collection certainly speaks to this and showcases the subtle changes in the Porsche line over the decades, as well as our immense and continued passion for the marque. It is however, time to share the cars with other passionate enthusiasts.

"We hope our cars, as well as nostalgia, bring as much joy to their new owners as they have to our family over the years."

The Auctions America Fort Lauderdale sale takes place at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center on March 31-April 2, 2017.
