Morphy Auctions offers third sale of the Kyle Moore petroliana collection

Morphy Auctions is set to offer more treasures from the Kyle Moore collection, regarded as the world’s finest private collection of vintage petroliana.
Valued at $15-$20 million, the collection is the most valuable single-owner collection in the company’s history. With the previous two offerings already totalling close the $9 million in sales, the third sale from the collection should bring equally impressive results.

"This third of four sales events featuring the legendary Kyle Moore collection again presents enthusiasts with best-of-class selections of gas, oil, and automobile related collectibles," said Dan Matthews, Division Head of Petroliana/Automobilia at Morphy Auctions.

"These Moore sales have been fabulously successful, with our recent January sale breaking two world records. Could this sale top even that?  Given the festive and full house tradition of these gas and oil sales events, plan to come early and stay late!"

The sale will include a strong selection of vintage tyre and oil signs, with highlights including a highly rare Kelly Tires With ‘Lotta Miles’ Logo Sign, estimated at $60,000-$80,000; a Wyeth Tires Porcelain Curved Sign, marked "Burdick, Beaver Falls, PA," estimated at $20,000-$30,000; a Champlain Oil Products Porcelain Sign valued at $50,000-$75,000; and a double-sided Harbor Petroleum Products Sign with Seaplane graphics estimated at $40,000-$60,000.

Elsewhere the sale will feature close to 300 globes and lenses, oil cans and containers, petroliana and automobilia themed ephemera, displays, clocks, and vintage neon.

The auction takes place in Denver, Pennsylvania on April 23-24.
