JC Auctions’ Crown and Dragon sale last month was so successful that stamp buyers are being invited to attend a second global online and in-person auction in Jersey next week.
Part II follows the success of October’s first Crown & Dragon auction.
That was JC Auction’s first-ever live auction. More than 500 stamps were sold, bringing in more than £200,000.
Auctioneer Mike Hall says the second sale will follow the successful model of the first.
“That auction’s strong performance was testament to the quality of the lots,” he said.
“Each stamp was catalogue-quality and had provenance from Stanley Gibbons – unprecedented in a philatelic auction.”
While buyers enjoyed good value, some lots inspired bidding battles and sold for well over their pre-sale estimates.
A coveted GB £1 Green from 1902 made £8,125 against a £5,500 top estimate.
A Christmas Paintings error of 1967 made 200% over its high estimate of £1,500 to realise £4,500.

“The second Crown & Dragon Live Stamp Auction is your opportunity to enhance your collection with rarities at landmark low prices,” Mr Hall said.
The sale will see more than 200 lots go under the hammer, with live online and telephone bidding before and then alongside a live sale in Jersey that will close out the lots.
Buyers are already putting in substantial bids, with a pre-paid House of Lords envelope addressed in the hand of the Duke of Wellington already attracting a £1,000 bid.
The Chinese stamps on offer include fine examples of the famous “red revenues” series, and a vertical pair the Year of the Monkey stamp of 1980, perhaps China’s most popular ever stamp.
Mr Hall said: “With low reserves throughout, sharp-eyed collectors were able to pick up several stamps of global importance at bargain prices at our first sale, and they could well do the same next week.”
The Crown & Dragon Auction II auction is open for advance bidding online now. The auction will be streamed live online from 10am, GMT, on December 10.
