An auction said to include the biggest ever collection of Noel Gallagher’s Oasis guitars to go to sale will test the market for the recently reformed Mancunian band this November.

Timing is everything in popular culture and now is the perfect moment to sell anything to do with the Gallagher brothers’ band, though sale organisers Propstore say the timing is a happy coincidence.

Top ranked in the Propstore sale is a Silver Sparkle Les Paul Florentine with an estimate of £200,000 to £400,000.

It is one of 18 Noel Gallagher-owned guitars in the sale.

Noel rated it as the best in the world. It was made for him at the Gibson custom shop and is a complete one off.

It’s been played live and on record (notably on Oasis’ third album Be Here Now) and comes with extensive photographic evidence putting it on the spot for well-known concert appearances.

A set of lyrics for Wonderwall can be yours for between £4,000 to £8,000.

The words for Supersonic and Live Forever and other songs autographed by the Gallagher brothers will set you back between £3,000 and £6,000.

You can sing them while you drive home in your custom psychedelic golf buggy, made for Noel Gallagher as a birthday gift from his then wife Meg Matthews.

That could cost you as much as £10,000.

These estimates could yet prove to be low. Oasis have previously not been a hugely valuable band for collectors. Go back just a few years and you can find Gallagher-owned guitars going for just a few thousand pounds.

But, the passing of time means fans grow up and – some of them – get the money to indulge in nostalgia and hero worship on a different level.

The reformation of the band has confirmed there is enormous public interest in them in the UK.

Exhibitions will show off the catalogue in October and November. The sale is due to open on November 15, 2024.

Propstore music specialist Mark Hochman said: “Propstore is genuinely excited to offer fans the chance to own these extraordinary pieces of music history. This auction provides a unique opportunity for people to connect with the legacy of Oasis and we can’t wait to see these iconic items become part of new collections that will celebrate them for years to come.”

Just this week Sotheby’s sold a Noel Gallagher guitar for £132,000 after a fierce bidding battle.

With a couple more months of heavy rotation publicity around the brothers this sale could easily see prices go past their estimates.
