Fine wines from one of the world’s greatest collectors will hit the block at Heritage in Beverly Hills this week.
The auction house is set to offer the Walter Oberlander Collection, which features more than 400 lots of some of the finest Burgundies and Bordeaux available.
"Walter is one of the greatest collectors alive today and his collection reflects both his passion for the best vintages and his dedication to collecting," said Frank Martell, Director of Fine & Rare Wines at Heritage.
"Every big name is here. In fact, it’s impossible that any wine lover could peruse this grouping and not be impressed and inspired."
Oberlander’s collection of Burgundies includes the likes of Roumier, Rousseau, Comte de Vogue, Dujac and Henri Jayer, whilst his offering of Napa Valley vintages including Abreu, Araujo, Harlan, Philip Togni and Peter Michael. The collection also includes one of the finest offerings of Soldera to ever hit the market, and a wide range of vintages of the famed Guigal Cote Roties.
The sale’s second session will feature more than 600 exceptional lots, led by fine offerings of DRC and First Growth Bordeaux.
"As always, we maintain the highest professional standards and stand behind every lot on offer," said Martell. "Highlights here include cases of La Tache, imperials of Petrus, a rare 12 bottle lot of Quinta do Noval Nacaional 1994 and superb cases of ’89 Haut Brion."
Top lots include a case of La Tache 1996, Domaine de la Romanee Conti, estimated at $22,000+; a case of Chateau Haut Brion 1989 estimated at $12,000+; one Imperial of Chateau Petrus 2007 estimated at $15,000+; 12 bottles of Chateau Mouton Rothschild 1982 valued at $9,000+; and six bottles of La Tache 2008, Domaine de la Romanee Conti, estimated at $9,000+.
The Heritage Fine & Rare Wine Signature Auction takes place on June 3.
