A car from the classic race movie Le Mans is expected to realise over $10 million to become the most valuable Porsch ever sold at auction.
The car is a 1970 Porsche 917K and it heads to sale in January next year at Mecum.
Currently, the record lies with another Le Mans-used Porsche. That car, the same model, was sold for $14.8 million in 2017.
This car was bought by comedian Jerry Seinfeld at some point after its sale in 2000 at auction when it realised $1.32 million.
It’s not known if Seinfeld is selling now.
Or, what the estimate will be.

However, with better provenance, an original (flat-12) engine, and a McQueen signature there are good reasons to believe the price paid will exceed the 2017 record.
McQueen wrote: “”Finished, Thanks for staying together,” along with his signature on the car.
McQueen is a collectible and valuable movie star. He also has a special place in the heart of speed fans, having driven some of the most iconic stunt chases in movie history.
A Tag Heuer Monaco racing watch he wore during the film is due to come to auction in December. It is expected to make up to $1 million.
Cars with a star link carry a substantial premium. This car can be linked directly to McQueen, whose company, Solar Productions, bought it straight from the makers.
It was driven during the film, including during the climactic racing scene. It is still painted in the orange and blue Gulf Racing colours of the 1971 film.
