Gold coloured Boots worn by David Beckham for his 100th England cap have realised £17,360 at an auction Northamptonshire in the UK.
Beckham’s 100th cap was won on March 26, 2008 in a friendly against France in Paris. The commemorative cap itself was presented to Beckham by fellow Manchester United and England leegnd Sir Bobby Charlton, who died earlier this year.
Footballer/pop star
Beckham is often regarded as the first of a new breed of celebrity footballers. He had model good looks and married a pop star, Victoria Adams, “Posh Spice” of the Spice Girls. He was unkindly nicknamed Golden Balls after his wife left the name slip out on a TV chat show.

He was also a wonderful player, playing for Manchester United, Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, and PSG in a career that earned him 6 Premier League titles, 2 FA cups, 4 Community Shields, 1 Champions League, 2 MLS Cups (USA), 1 Ligue title in France and a Spanish La Liga title.
The boots bear the embroidered names of the Beckhams’ first 3 children, Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz.
“A one-off.”
Auctioneer Adam Gascoigne of Graham Budd said: “These boots were a one-off. To have something marking an important milestone for such an iconic England player makes them particularly special.”
The boots had previously been on show at one of Beckham’s football academies. They were given to a member of staff when the school closed down.
Mr Gascoigne said the sale, in which a Bobby Charlton England shirt achieved £22,000, attracted bidders from around the world.
In East Asia a new generation is learning to love English football, and they’re willing to pay large amounts for memorabilia from the game’s stars. These boots exceeded a top estimate of £10,000. Last November, a pair of Adidas Predators worn by Beckham in a crucial world cup qualifier raised nearly £20,000 against a top estimate of £3,000.
