Fans have a chance to own unique pieces of Succession memorabilia as hundreds of props and costumes from the hit HBO series go under the hammer this month.

The sale in Texas closes on January 13.

Among the most notable lots are the costumes that defined the ultra-wealthy Roy family’s idiosyncratic style.

Standouts include Roman’s lounge shorts and Walmart t-shirt he controversially wore in the finale. Bids for this ensemble topped $925 early in the sale. His sister Siobhan’s power suits by Tom Ford and other luxury designers are also up for grabs.

Even tech mogul Lukas Matsson’s scene-stealing outfits like his Needles cardigan and Kyrie Irving Nikes are available to devoted Succession fans looking to dress like their favorite fictional billionaires.

“For superfans, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own an authentic piece of this iconic show,” said an auction spokesperson.

Alongside the clothes are other props like Waystar Royco office supplies and Greg’s giant Burberry bag carried by his girlfriend.

The sale is interesting. Succession is a hit of the modern age, a streaming show designed to be binge watched in the viewer’s own time. These items are being sold immediately, in the flush of a show’s first popularity, rather than being kept to become historic items.

This may reflect budget pressures in TV and streaming production. Typically, pop culture items take some time at least to be recognised as collectible. The most valuable items of TV memorabilia have come from 1950s and 60s shows – the Bat Mobile from the 60s TV show realised $4.2 million in 2013. However, Game of Thrones has proved popular with collectors already, with a Faberge egg associatted with the show selling for $2.2 million in 2021.

Buyers at this sale are likely to have an eye on future resales once the status of Succession has been proved by the passage of time.
